It's not an additional advertising element, it's a replacement.
It looks like they've changed the way the ads are displayed on the pages. Instead of the GoogleAds being displayed on the right they are now being displayed at the bottom of the pages. On my own site where I use a variety of layouts, the ads are appearing as I think they should - example http://members.lycos.co.uk/brisray/bristol/bhist1.htm On other pages, the ads are now chopping of a portion of the page - example http://members.lycos.co.uk/brisray/th/tpcards10.htm - in fact, not only are the last couple of lines of text not displaying the GoogleAds aren't either! I've had a quick look at your site and the GoogleAds are being placed at the bottom of hte first div instead of the bottom of the page. This is probably because you are using absolute postioning.
