As with any internet connection there are many variables that affect transfer speeds. Generally speaking, the transfer speed is only as fast as the slowest connection between internet nodes - this is why the maximum rated speed of your internet connection is rarely reached.
The initial transfer speed is fast but may drop if data packets get lost or are reported as being damaged on arrival at the servers. I find that my data tansfers start at around 40kb/s but may drop to 10 during the transfer. One of the botlenecks is at the servers, the busier they are the slower is the connection. Try varying the time that you do you uploads and see if that makes a diference. I just uploaded some files to my site and the average speed was around 25kb/s. Ray |
