Go back and read the rules you agreed to properly... "Lycos may suspend or terminate your use of the Lycos services immediately at its reasonable discretion if you breach any of your obligations under these terms and conditions." No mention of them having to give any warning. Backing up your own files is your responsibility. Everey computer user should know at least that. There are ways you may be able to save some of your files if you lose them... 1) Google - enter your site name in Google by using, for example site:members.lycos.co.uk/brisray. Google caches or keeps a copy of most pages and so you need to click on the "cache" link from the returned results. 2) Web Archive - http://www.archive.org/ - this is a site that contains copies of many sites often going back several years. For example it has copies of members.lycos.co.uk/brisray going back to October 2002. It even has an archive of my old domain, brisray.co.uk going back to October 2000. Ray |
